There are few crafts that are more versatile and satisfying as quilt making. It combines so many techniques and procedures that it inspires a quilter to tackle one project after another.
Whether it is a simple quilt or a work of art that has been designed by the maker, a tremendous sense of satisfaction is felt when it is completed. With so many variations of patchwork, quilting and appliqué, a quilter is never bored but can go from strength to strength creating more and more beautiful quilts.
The goals of our guild are to promote the art of quilting by offering inspiration and education; to use the art of quilting to respond to the needs of the community and to cultivate friendly relationships and camaraderie.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month – September through June. Our meetings are held at the Campbell River Community Centre and the meetings start at 7:00 p.m.
Periodically we host displays of our quilts. Venues for these displays have been the Campbell River Art Gallery, Vancouver Island Regional Library, local businesses and the Tidemark Theatre.
We host a Quilt Show about every three years – the last one being October 2005 at the Campbell River Community Centre.
To help improve and inspire our members, for all levels of experience and skill, we hold fabulous workshops several times a year, check our events page for up and coming activities.
Our Community Project Committee works toward donating quilts to the R.C.M.P. Highway Patrol, Ann Elmore Transition House, Meals-on-Wheels, Yucalta Lodge and the Salvation Army or whenever a need is identified.
